A press release from Capcom on February 9, 2015, confirms that the Resident Evil remaster has become Capcom’s fastest selling digital title in history, across North America and Europe, after only 3 weeks. The game has also surpassed the record for the highest selling day one digital title for PSN.
The game released on January 20, 2015 for download only at 19.99 across all major platforms and PC. Resident Evil was originally released in 1996 and remastered in 2002 for the GameCube. Despite the great news, Capcom still has not disclosed the total unit sales figures or a breakdown of sales by platform for the new release.
